New Work Boats
We like building Work Boats.
The biggest industries in Nelson include seafood, horticulture, forestry and tourism. The Port is important in every one of them. That means the marine trades around this area are well skilled and experienced in work boats, and here at Challenge Marine we are proud of the working boats we have built over the years.
A maintenance vessel for mussel farming, the 22m alloy Phoenix was launched in November 2009. Designed in Nelson by Richard McBride, she is destined for the Coromandel. She is configured slightly differently to the Northern Quest (which we built in 2008), due to her shorter hull length.
